In the past 18 months, we have put a lot of effort to secure some of the world’s best machinery for New Zealand farming. We aim to deliver the best for Wairarapa farmers and we stopped at nothing to test, check and explore.
We search globally to ensure we have the best machinery that can deliver cost-effective results.
Today we are proud owners of some of the best agricultural machinery in New Zealand and that means we can do an even better job for our customers. This is such a satisfying feeling.
Staffing going forward
Traditionally we relied on overseas visitors which is not quite happening in 2021. So, we are examining other ways to staff our team, including how we can attract more New Zealanders to work with us.
Wairarapa is a delightful place to call home. We envisage how more complicated machinery we now use on the farm will start attracting great drivers who would consider agricultural contracting as a career path.

More training
There were many training initiatives in the past few years including special health & safety management programs and specialised driver training.
We are continuously training young people as we know the impact well-trained staff can have not just on our company, but for our clients like yourself. Those very young people then tend to come into our full-time staffing program and even as key members of staff when we have large numbers of seasonal workers.

Expansion of supplementary feeds business
On top of operating a huge range of machinery, we have a manufacturing arm to Tulloch Contracting.
We manufacture calf and stock feed which are from locally grown and New Zealand sourced ingredients rather than imported. It is growing in popularity even though we currently only distribute in the Wairarapa region.
Partnership with farmers
We proudly partner with farmers.
How you may ask? Well, we go to farms and talk with farmers. From there, we ensure they have a great experience working with us by having the job efficiently and independently managed.
Once we have received a job, we are taking it off your hands and take control as much as we can. So that as the farmer, you can go out there and do what you do best.
Tulloch Contracting aims to provide you with complete peace of mind when you hire us. This is why there is virtually nothing for the farmer to do. We supervise the job from the moment it begins, until the very end. We understand that farmers need to prioritise the seasonal workload ahead of them
NOTE: Once we finish the job, we do however encourage farmers to keep a watchful eye on growing crops. If there are no regular inspections then the risk of pests, diseases and other potential threats are much higher. These risks are beyond our control as we have already left the field – however, farmers can still contact us if they have any concerns.
